Importance of Home Title Deed?

Long story short RE: our home title deed - I can't find the silly thing anywhere ARGHHHHH. However, I did find our title insurance from the Title Company, as well as a letter from the Home Owner's association and a copy of our home insurance policy. Is this sufficient? I am going to keep looking but I am wondering if I'll need to order a new one and who knows how long that will take. I know proof of home ownership or lease is one of the most important things in ROC but does it have to be specifically the home title deed?

You can go to your county's recorder of deeds and get another copy. Its costs 5.00 and you get it immediately.

That fast? Oh that would be awesome. I was imagining it costing some ridiculous sum of money and taking months. Definitely going to do that then!

I think it's possible to print it from online. I'll check my computers, because I know I saved the link somewhere ( I found it in this forum).

ROC VSC mailed 5/7/14

NOA1 5/9

Check cashed 5/14

Biometrics current

RFE dated 12/18

RFE mailed 1/20

Approved 2/2 ! ( letter came from the local office)

Card received 2/17/15 !!!!
