hi good morning I just sign up and Idont know if im in the right page ....im already here in united state using a k1 visa i got married for over a year and already have my 2 year green card. i got divorce because my american husband was being abusive my green card would expired on september 2015 im planning to go back to philippines for a month because i wanna visit my mother shes kinda sick I was planning to file a self petition before my green card would expired..would i be able to come back here in united state using my 2 year greencard without a problem?i don't know what to do anymore pls help

Yes you can travel as long as your green card is not expired. You said your green card expires in Sept 2015, when are you planning on going back to Phil?

you can file to remove conditions 90 days before the expiration date on your green card. Once USCIS receives the packet for removing conditions they will send you an extension letter that extends your green card for one year. If you are out of the country after the card expires bring the green card along with the extension letter with you and give it to immigration when coming home and you will be allowed back in. My husband just traveled to Hong Kong using the extension letter and didn't have any problems getting back in the country

I thought she can file to remove conditions right away because of divorce?

If you have your divorce decree in your hand right now, you don't have to wait until the 90 day filing period to open up. You can file today if you'd like! Good luck!!

Yes, file to remove conditions now and send a copy of your divorce decree and proof of relationship/entering marriage in good faith. Read the instructions on applying and requesting the joint filing requirement be waived > http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-751instr.pdf
