All,

I've submitted my DS-160 on the 17th of December and had my medical on the 7th of January.

However, I still havent received my appointment letter. I thought I've read somewhere that normally this letter arrives about a week after the medical completion.

Thanks all.

A letter from London just a week after the medical date would be super lucky. The results were likely not even ready until the 12th or 13th.

Did you also submit the Readiness for Interview form?

Yes I also did the readiness form.

What is the normal average time frame for me to receive the letter?

And from receiving the letter, assuming I book the appointment straight away, we're still talking about a month out for the actual interview?

Thanks again guys..

I (and my fiancé) just feel it's all so close, and it feels like we're just waiting forever now to see each other again.

No average. And you don't choose your interview. Your medical results have to be at the embassy first, so don't start counting on the day of your medical. Then 2-3 weeks later (one if you are unusually lucky) you get a letter giving your date and time. That will be an interview happening maybe 3-4 weeks from the letter date....no longer than that. Could be just a week's notice if you indicated a wedding date that is quite soon in your readiness form. if you said you didn't plan to marry until next April, then they might hold off even scheduling your interview until closer to April. It seriously varies a LOT. This isn't typically "rush hour" at the embassy so maybe yours will be fast. Christmas holidays, Spring break, summer tourist visas, and back to school student visas clog up the system more.

Why don't you come on over to the UK forum and moan with the rest who are waiting on London? It will give you somebody to hang with.

Great news and lucky you. :) Sometimes they don't even answer emails for several days or bother to tell you the date. January is a great month to go through London!

Thanks all,

As said, I've finally received my appointment letter for my K-1, very happy about that.

So now I registered the appointment and paid the fee required.

I'm just curious and confused about the DS-260... What is this? Do I need to file this? And if I need to file it, where can I possibly find the Invoice ID number?

On the website of the visa appointment service, it shows 'check DS-260' status, but I have no idea what this is. I tried looking on the search option but don't really find any relevant posts.

Is this something I need to file? Do I need to bring the DS-260 with me to the appointment? Sorry, just getting nervous about not having something that I might need.

Then also, I have the following available at the moment for my interview (I made 2 copies of each to be sure)...

- Appointment letter

- DS-160 confirmation

- 4 US sized pictures

- English police report

- Dutch police report (in english)

- Birth certificate

- I-134 (original signed by my fiance)

- Passport (obviously)

Additional supporting documentation:

- printouts of all my flight receipts to the US

- copy of the I-129 filed

- tax papers and pay slips from my fiance in support of the I-134

- recent email exchange between me and my fiance about wedding venues etc.

Would this suffice? Or am I missing something?

Sorry if this is stupid question, just like I said, nervous about forgetting something important.

Thanks again all!

I called the NVC and asked them about it.

They really werent sure either, since a K-1 is a non-immigrant visa which at some point turns into an immigrant visa.

However, the kind lady on the phone gave me the invoice ID number and the Beneficiary ID number so I could log in to do the DS-260.

As soon as I logged in, I got the message:

Quote

Summary Information

K visas are nonimmigrant visas that assist spouses or future spouses of American citizens in entering the United States. As with all nonimmigrant visa applicants, a DS-160 must be filled out in order for a consular section to process the case.

So my guess is that as a K-1 visa, you do NOT need a DS-260... PHEW! :-)

If someone could however still confirm if my list of paperwork for the interview should be sufficient, then I'd be very delighted ;-)

I am so stunned and sickened .. 2 days agoI found out that my fiance missed his scheduled K1 visa at london embassy. ( Feb 3) Why am I stunned .. Not because we did not expect it.. but because we had for well over a month been trying to contact the embassy via their internal emailing system letting them know that we had not gotten any letter or email communication and that we were concerned that a date had been scheduled and the letter lost in mail. Now we are left with the pathetic option of trying to write them via the same email system that proved to be useless the last three times we wrote them in hopes of avoiding this very situation.

Anyone have any suggestions?

By the way Congratulations on your interview date. Happy to hear you did not miss :-) God Speed!
