Help on aos package please : )

Hi everyone : )

I called the NVC for IV Bill and then I asked what should I file for the AOS package just to confirm what I thought I knew,

I thought if I provide the transcript from the IRS then w2 or 1099s are not required. But the agent told me, it's the tax returns that are required, and you can choose either transcript or W2, 1099 besides the required tax returns.

I'm really confused what should I file for AOS package now...

you are referring to the I-864 form? That is confusing as it clearly states in the instructions when using tax transcripts no w-2 are needed. only when sending in copy of tax returns are they require.

why will they need something with same info? A tax transcript is an official record from the IRS, while a copy of a tax return, they will need w-2 to verify the income.

You should call again and talk to another agent because that does not seem right

I was really confused. I asked him twice and he confirmed to me twice that tax returns are required and besides that, either the transcript or w2/1099s. lol

It`s so hard to get a hold with them, I can only have a chance if I call them at 4am Pacific time... west coast...

Guess I`m not gonna listen to him, I will just use one year tax transcript and employment letter and bank states as assets. That`s all.

Those should be enough right? : )

Tax transcript by IRS , W2s , 1099s and Tax Return ( 1040 ) any of this will be fine , you just need one of them.

I'd recommend Tax transcript by IRS and yeah it's okay to just use last year one , employment letter is recommended , banks..assets..etc are optional if your income are sufficient or exceed the required amount in form I-864P.

Agree that calling NVC these days is really hard , hopefully they will add more phone lines ? I can see they are getting more and more in the future so more phone lines will be needed.

On the form it has you list your income for the 3 most recent years. Only the most recent tax transcript is require. The tax transcript for the other two years are optional. Still it would probably be better if you sent in all three. If you can only send in one, you should be ok, with the employment letter and bank statement. Also maybe get some copies of your paystubs to send in

Tax transcripts can be sent alone. Tax returns will need either w-2's or 1099's with them. So not just any one of the 4 will do Edited January 21, 2015 by j&ana

Will work on getting the employment letter now.

I'm thinking maybe I'll wait until I file this year's tax and mail in the AOS package after. As this year's pay is higher. Lol
