I have mixed feelings about the suspension. I am not a big fan of New England but despite the controversies I still think that Tom Brady is among the best quarterbacks to have played in the NFL. The crazy thing is that I don't think that he needed to cheat.

As a diehard Hawks fan I can live with the loss of one of the best Super Bowls ever. In light of deflate gate it may take some of the glory away from Brady and that is a shame.

I think the second half of the Colts game and the Super Bowl proved that under inflation was not an advantage. It sure isn't worth your reputation. I think he has a shot to get the suspension reduced on appeal. There is talk here that Kraft may take this further too. He has to comply with the ruling, but he could take the league to court. Tough decision. I wonder if Brady leveled with him.

Hopefully he appeals, and they raise it to 6 games.

 Then Manning might have a chance. If it stands at 4 games, the Patriots will be 1-3 when he comes back. They aren't going to beat Pittsburgh or Dallas without him, and probably not the Bills. We have a shot against Jacksonville.

They're getting all worked up here already. They were planning to rest Manning some games this year and now they're talking about going all in. Pat's probably still go 3-1 anyway.

Losing the 1st round pick is probably the worst part.

That part made no sense to me.

I was expecting two or 3 games and maybe a 100k fine to the team, but I guess the Pats ticked some peeps off with their stonewalling.

Losing the first round pick is a big hit. The fine is symbolic, and a million dollars is pocket change to an NFL owner. Regardless, I expect this whole incident will be used to fire up the team, show no mercy, take no prisoners. After Spygate they won 18 games in a row. This time they have an inexperienced QB. They will design a game plan around him while Brady is out.

Since 1980, a first round pick has been used as a penalty twice. Any guess against which team?

Gotta love it!!

Fans start GoFundMe site to help Patriots pay $1 million fine

So what do you get the team that has everything, including four Super Bowl titles? If you're a Patriots fan unhappy with the NFL's decision to fine the organization $1 million for Deflategate (among other, more substantial penalties), you fire up a GoFundMe page to help offset the cost. Because we all know there's no way a team reportedly worth $2.6 billion can handle what we imagine Gisele jokingly refers to as pocket change.

Spooks were you surprised to see the Pats release Kyle Arrington yesterday, seeing how thin at defensive back they already are?

Especially after releasing Dennard too. They must have something else in mind. They are mediocre at that position with Revis and Browner out of the picture.

Yeah but what? They've either cut or lost 75% of their backfield since the Superbowl. I thought Arrington was one of the few guys left that was half decent. I get they've really beefed up the front seven, but you still need some bodies in the backfield that can play.

I have no idea what he is doing. They will have to go back to zone coverage again, and that didn't let them win the big one. They gave up a lot of yards and big plays with zone coverage. Their offense is what kept them on top. We are in the twilight years, it was a helluva run. Even without a suspension, Brady is close to the end, maybe a couple of years? Can Garoppolo lead them to further glory? Is he the future? How much longer will Bill coach?

I like what little I've seen of Garappolo so far, the first four games will be interesting to watch. I agree two years left for Tom, but I think Bill will be a Marv Levy type and coach into his 70's if his health allows him too. I think all time records matter to Bill a lot and he wants his name on most, if not all of them.
