Extremely bad idea.

Why? Seattle is primarily a power running team. They only throw 20-25 times a game. Beichick usually tries to take away a teams strength, in this case Lynch and Wilson running running the ball. Can they do it? I have my doubts. The NE defense has been porous against the run.

Seattle has the best defense in the game. I don't think the Patriots have the talent to match them. I think Seattle will hammer Edelman and Amendola after the catch. If Gronk can get open and Brady is accurate, Gronk will hold his own, plus he is an excellent blocker. Maybe NE will use 2 tight ends more often today, we'll see in a few hours.

This is the toughest opponent NE has faced in a few years and they need to execute damn near perfectly to win this game. I hope they do, but I have too much respect for Seattle to make any wild predictions. If it turns into a rout, it will be Seattle rolling up the score, IMO.

I respect that. You've been through a lot of lean years just as NE fans have been until the 2000's. Seattle plays the kind of D that Belichick would love to have on his own team. His respect for Carroll and the Seahawks is genuine.

I have had many years of pain and suffering. The last decade has been obviously better and better. I don't see a Denver style collapse but I am not sure how the Patriots can pull this one off. Even when Seattle's offense looks weak they are really just wearing out opposing defenses and biding their time.

This probably is the best Patriot team to get to a Super Bowl though and if there is a coach who can coach his way out of a pickle it's Belichick. Brady and Gronk will be a handful.

Green Bay gives me hope of NE pulling this one out. The Packers had the game won, they didn't finish it. And just as importantly, the Hawks never gave up. GB went too conservative in the 4th quarter, they picked Wilson off and laid down instead of returning the pick as far as possible. Very conservative play calling and the botched onside kick coverage sealed their fate. I give Seattle credit for playing the full 60 minutes, the Packers didn't. The Patriots have had a few games where they don't show up until after the half, they won't be able to do that today and have any of winning.
