Our interview just concluded. The only snag seemed to be that we didn't have updated bios in our packet when we sent them in. The IO gave us to to fill out in th waiting area after he questioned us. Didn't look at any of our photos, only took shared bank statements and our shared lease. Asked a number of questions about our attending church. Said my wife's medicals and our financials looked good. He said we'd hear by mail when we left, but we weren't given any document saying approved, waiting, more info needed or what. My wife is very upset that maybe she answered something wrong, but I didn't see that, and they didn't separate us. He did say that they'd rereview the case and pass to the supervisor.

Do we have need to be worried? We're both very disheartened. Up to this point everything had gone quite well with our case.

Keep checking the status on the ceac site. This is where you will find out first. Does not sound like ther are issues. We had ours and no decision said at thie time but within 30 min we got text message from the ceac site that we ever approved. Some have to be approved by supervisor. Keep checking the ceac site.

Good luck.

Not everyone is approved on the spot. Sometimes there needs to be a review of the case, or a supervisor needs to sign off on the decision. If you were missing documents, then they probably need to review your case before making the final decision. It sounds like that was the only thing holding things up, so you can most likely expect an approval soon.

Have you got your green card yet?

I had my interview yesterday and the same thing happened. No personal or suspicious questions asked. Just took our bank statements and 4 photos of us. At the end of the interview, the IO just said we would receive a mail of the result in 2 weeks. If they need more documents, they will request them on the letter. If we get approved, the green card will either come along the letter or be mailed separately.

My friend who had an interview 10 days earlier than me got the approval on the spot. My experience yesterday kinda worries me. Today I checked on USCIS website. My status hasn't been updated yet. How long will I get response?

We had the same experience, however the interviewer did give us a paper stating no decision, but she told us everything is in order. It took two days before our status changed on the website to approved. Now it says the GC is being produced.

Good Luck!

We just checked the website yesterday and it says that the order for the card has been made, effective also yesterday. So it seems things worked out. Odd part is, we didn't get any emails or sms messages that it was approved or that the card was ordered to production.
