JERUSALEM (Reuters) - An Iranian general killed in an Israeli air strike in Syria was not its intended target and Israel believed it was attacking only low-ranking guerrillas, a senior security source said on Tuesday.

The remarks by the Israeli source, who declined to be identified because Israel has not officially confirmed it carried out the strike, appeared aimed at containing any escalation with Iran or the Lebanese Hezbollah guerrilla group.

Iranian Revolutionary Guard General Mohammed Allahdadi was killed with a Hezbollah commander and the son of the group's late military leader, Imad Moughniyeh, in Sunday's attack on a Hezbollah convoy near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - U.N. peacekeepers stationed in the Golan Heights along the Syrian-Israeli border observed drones coming from the Israeli side before and after an airstrike that killed top several Hezbollah figures, the United Nations said on Monday.

The flight of the drones in the airspace over the Golan Heights was a violation of the 1974 ceasefire agreement between Syria and Israel, U.N. spokesman Farhan Haq told reporters.

Not unless the Israelis yelled Allahu Akhbar while carrying out the strike that they have not yet confirmed was actually carried out by them but that they did confirm had a different target. It is interesting how they know the intended targets of strikes they are not admitting to carrying out.

Funny how the hard left libs in here never give a second thought to the fact attacks carried out which kill terrorists, are aimed at preventing an attack those same terrorists are planning. Once they execute it - now that would be terrorism, however preventing it should be considered nothing but self defense. Not to libs though, not to libs...they live in their own little world.

Let us check this out. Palestine fires tons of crappy rockets that hardly cause any causalities, very terrifying. Israel fires precision missiles and drops smart bombs, kills lots of people, not terrifying at all.

So I just got back from watching the comedy channel...there was this clown there speaking very irrationally, and just when I was thinking man, he really needs a reality check I realized it's not the comedy channel and this clown resides in the white house and reminded me very much of the same train of thought and need of a reality check as some people around here...

So, say you are sitting in your house and you hear word from credible sources that your neighbor plans to attack your house and kill your family...you spot your neighbor right outside your fence and know if you do not move now you might not have another chance, you pick up your gun...er...nm bad example the people here are against guns.

Lets try this instead...would you call bombing Isis terrorism? #######, scrap this one too as they seem to consider attacking Isis as terrorism.

Oh! I know the perfect example. This woman goes to a clinic to have an abortion. She gets word that as soon as she leaves, right wing extremists will kill her. She, of course, does not believe in guns so she does not own one. However, she happens to find one in the clinic and takes it out with her when she leaves. A mob of bloodthirsty right wing extremeists rush towards her with an intention of killing her. She fires the gun and kills a couple of them. I'm assuming she's a terrorist.

It's perfectly legitimate to take issue with policies of preemptive action, after all its not like these sorts of things have a history of causing horrible collateral damage. There is nothing 'hard left' about it.
