Need some help understanding green card status

My wife came here on a K1 visa...we were married within 90 days on april 2014 less than 2 years ...and when she recieved her green card it says IR1 catagory...experation in 10 years. Is this correct or should she have gotten a CR1? Can someone opine on this? Please help, thanks in advanced

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

She should have received CR1. I have no idea what the rules are but if I received that, I would be on the phone right away to ask about it. Even though it may seem convenient to not have to remove conditions what if in their system she is still CR1 and you aren't prepared when the time comes to remove conditions? Again, there might be some who tell you to just keep it. But if it were me I would want to make sure I was allowed to, even if it meant ruining something that was way more convenient.

You need to call USCIS and send the card back with form I-90 to be corrected. They do make mistakes.

You need to call USCIS and send the card back with form I-90 to be corrected. They do make mistakes.

This. File I-90 with a copy of marriage certificate (highlight the date of marriage) and send it in - no fee, as USCIS fault.
