Hi everyone!

This is my first official post in the forum; I've been a long time lurker! I want to say it's a great community here and it's saved my wife and I's sanity a few time!

So basically a really quick synopsis of my current situation;

  • K1 process was smooth sailing, entered the US on 28th May of 2014,
  • Married in June, sent in AOS also in June, obviously sent in papers for EAD too.
  • Got SSN in June
  • Fingerprints were taken in July some time, so far so good!
  • Received my EAD at the end of August, that receipt number currently still says card was delivered (Success!)
  • Got potential interview waiver notice in early October for AOS
  • Received email update 12/12/14 saying my i-485 was accepted and being reviewed (??? Surely I thought this would have been much earlier)
  • BUT on the USCIS website when I enter my MSC number, my status says "On June 24th we received your fingerprint fee" or something similar. Before the USCIS website changed to the new design, my status was actually further along, it now seems like it's went back in time!

I tried submitting an online request, but it says it's within the normal time frame.

Can anyone shed any light on what's going on, if this is normal and whether I should call? I see by current posts that a lot of June filers have actually received their GC while many are anticipating April time?

Many thanks and good luck to everyone on their journey :)

Potential interview cases are waiting up to a year to be approved. You can check the progress reports forum to see the timelines of others that filed when you did.

~ Moved from AOS from Family Based main forum to Progress Reports sub-forum - topic is case status ~

Thanks, a year... Jeepers.. We were hoping to make a trip back to Northern Ireland (home for me) in July of this year, obviously it's tough going ahead booking time off work and flights when I don't even know if I'll be able to leave the country yet!

I also forgot to say; we did move house too. I filed the appropriate forms in the appropriate time and got a receipt of address change. We stayed in the same town, just moved up the road a little, so I didn't notify the MSC either. Hopefully this is all ok!

you can travel back to northern Ireland with your EAD/AP combo card IF you filed AP papers also. We're going back to Dublin in July and do NOT expect to have his green card by then.

Well... I filed for EAD, but didn't forsee us having to leave the country for a year, so I never applied for AP. Hindsight is always 20/20, but nothing much I can do about that now! After the K1 process, we kinda did everything on our own and didn't realise it would have taken so long to get to the GC process :clock:

I'm pretty sure you can still apply for your AP with your pending 485 application. Give it a try. it's free since you still have a GC application pending. You will need to include a copy of your NOA1 of your 485 application.

It's receivers of June waiver letters that have been approved recently, rather than June filers. Among those of us that have received interview waiver letters, they seem to be processing Feb/Mar filers at present.

2013 7/15 I-129F sent, 7/18 received Dallas lockbox, 7/22 NOA1, 10/22 NOA2, 11/15 NVC Case Created, 11/20 NVC Shipped, 11/25 Consulate received, 11/28 Packet 3 received/returned, 11/29 Medical, 12/9 Packet 4 received

2014 1/9 Interview - Approved, 1/15 CEAC - Issued, 1/17 Visa in hand, 2/5 POE: LAX, 4/4 Married!, 4/8 AOS/EAD/AP filed, 4/14 NOA1, 5/7 Walk-in biometrics, 5/19 EAD/AP approved (expedited), 5/22 EAD/AP mailed, 5/23 EAD/AP received, 7/29 Interview waiver letter

2015 4/13 AOS approved (no interview), 4/22 Green card received

2017 1/17 I-751 ROC filed (VSC), 1/23 NOA, 2/28 Biometrics

2018 1/31 ROC approved

2020 1/14 N400 filed
