Hi,

Does petitioner go through immigration with Cr-1 visa holder or may petitioner go to baggage claim while visa holder is going through immigration?

I would like to be there for my wife while she processes, but we would not want our baggage sitting waiting for us.. or leaving with someone else ?

Hi, I enterted the States yesterday via Boston....my husband accompanied me in the 'visa' interview line...the truth is, there were so many people in the line, by the time it was our turn, we knew our luggage would just be sitting there....it wasn't a problem though....i think its best to both be there and give your landing cards in together, any processing after that, you can leave and sort out your luggage

We ended up sitting in secondary, so the staff from IcelandAir removed our luggage and set it aside. They came in and asked if we were in the room and told us they would hold the bags.

The baggage waiting is really only a problem if you are pulled into secondary. However, I'd think you'd want to be there with your spouse, 'tis a little scary watching people (maybe some with greencards) be denied entry before you are called to the desk.
