Hey all, so just a quick question after reading various topics in here.

POE was 2014-08-26, entered on a CR-1 visa, I have my SSN, have been working, got my driving license, was just wondering what the general time frame would be to receive my green card, I know I have the temp in my passport, its been almost 5 months any ideas?

What is your case status in ELIS? You should have your physical green card by now.

Not sure if this applies but I had an infopass appointment last week and was told that currently the wait time for a new GC (i.e. just replacing an existing card) is around 9 months - don't know how CR1 works but if the process is triggered by you entering the country, it could still be a little while yet...

That does not apply here, since that is for I-90 filings (replacing a lost / stolen green card, correcting an error USCIS made on a green card, etc.). Here we're talking about an initial green card which the OP should have received after entering on an immigrant visa and paying the immigrant visa fee, but hasn't.

I contacted USCIS.. they emailed back if not received within 45 days then contact USCIS immediately

1. what's the ELIS status?

2. back at CRIS, add the IOE receipt # to your portfolio, then check on the status - what's the status inside of CRIS?

for your visa type, IMO, something is amiss - is possible the address on the ds-260/230 is not where you currently reside?

1 - "Status - In Process" (in ELIS)

1.1 - "Payment: Submitted" (in ELIS)

2. "On September 17, 2014, we accepted your Form OS155A, Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, Receipt Number IOE20893*****"

• I called 1(800)375-5283 yesterday (too late to speak to a tier 2 rep) so was told to call back today
• I called today, and apparently they were in a "no transfer zone" and I had to call back in an hour, I'll have another update in 20 minutes when I call again.

UPDATE : So I called them and was transferred to a Tier 2 Rep and was quoted a wait time of 48 minutes.

3 hours and 4 minutes later I finally get someone, she verified that I had everything paid and that NOW they are sending me out my "welcome to the states letter" AND my green card will also be sent out. Expected arrival 6th of February.

I asked her why it has taken almost 5 months for this to finally happen, when even she her self said it should only be 45 days.

Her response was "wellllllll we deal with 50 states and sometimes it takes longer than others"

Yeah, calling BS on that. Hopefully you will have it in your hands shortly though.

Most likely she pressed the button on her Excuse-O-Matic 5000 and that was the reason that popped up.

Maybe some people get in in 45 days, but ours took 4 months from POE entry approximately.

I think the real reason is that sometimes the files get delayed in being sent out from the POE location.
