The 13-character application receipt number can be found on application notices you have received from the USCIS. It begins with three letters such as (EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC). Dashes ("-") should be omitted when entering a receipt number. However, all other characters, including asterisks ("*"), can be included if listed on your notice as part of the receipt number

This should be visable on the check too :)

I just sent mine out an hour ago! It was really a lot of work to make duplicates of EVERYTHING in the packet -- it was so much stuff, I think I spent about $20 on copying alone. As I was reviewing the packet to make sure it all looked good, I saw this: "The estimated time to file this petition is 1 hour, 30 minutes per petition." Surely they don't mean on OUR end of things? I just burst out laughing . . . I've probably spent about 20 hours total on this thing. But it's done, it's mailed, and now the waiting begins

Feb 21, 2007: Mailed I-129F via USPS Priority Mail.

Feb 24, 2007: I-129F arrived at VSC at 3:01 p.m.

Feb 27, 2007: NOA1

Feb 28, 2007: They cashed my check.

Mar 2, 2007: Touched! I'm guessing this was my check clearing :)

Mar 5, 2007: NOA1 arrived via snail mail.

Mar 15, 2007: NOA2!!!!!!

Mar 21, 2007: Petition sent to Bogota

May: We send Packet 3 by fax; fax never received.

June: We send packet 3 again; it's sent back because my fiance didn't write NONE and N/A.

July: We send packet 3 again . . .

July 23rd: We get an email from the embassy. Our interview is August 21st!!!

It's going to Vermont, which I hear is speedier than the other ones. Does anyone know why?

Like I do after handing in a paper (I'm a grad student) . . . that I don't quite want to let go of it, because maybe if I spend just one more day on it, it'll be more successful.

I think because they handle fewer k-1s than cali. Congrats on that too! If mine would have went to vmt, my fiancee might be here by now :hehe:

let try this again...i sent out our petition on the 7th, rcv'd at tcs by "m.salcedo" on the 9th...and nothing yet...check not cashed, nada...am i the only fab feb filer to submit around this time to have no feedback??? how do you know if they have transferred to csc??? do they e-mail me about noa's??? what in the world is snail mail??? noa1, then check cashed??? please, something, anything...

hi berichka79! try this:

  • trace your mail from the USPS
  • if have been received, anytime around 10-15days you will receive NOA1, you can find your case receipt number there
  • register online in the USCIS site using your receipt number-site..https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp
  • check online on the status, you will know if your case has been transferred from one service center to another

i hope this helps..feel free to ask me,..

rea

the opinions that i express in this website are my own and are not legal advise...thank you...

At about 2 hours after I posted here and we were wondering whether the number that we could read on the back of the cheque was the correct one, my fiance had a strange feeling and went home to check his mail... and there it was! The "infamous" NOA1

He called me immediately and he showed it to me on the webcam...

And btw, it does seem that Texas K1 petitions are being sent to CA...

So be patient (HA! :) ) all of you who do not have any word yet... after all, it you do have confirmation that it got there by mail... you must get your NOA1 any day now...
