Fortunately for other shoppers at the store, only the gun owner was injured in this accident. This could have had a far worse denouement.

HAYDEN, Idaho — A mom shopping at a Walmart store died Tuesday after her toddler, who was left in a shopping cart, reached into her purse and accidentally discharged her handgun, authorities said.

Veronica J. Rutledge, 29, of Blackfoot, Idaho, had gone to the store in this Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, suburb with four children in tow at mid-morning.

I don't believe the family of the dead mother or the toddler who shot her will ever be able to consider this an old story. I would bet money that they will remember this for the rest of their lives.

To be sure, it's far easier when one reads it on the news, but if you pause for a moment and imagine this had been your wife and kid, I'm sure the story would be anything by old news for you.

When are we going to start teaching gun safety to two year olds so we can avoid these tragedies?

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.
