Hello,

Last month my wife and I applied for a CR-1 visa here in Moscow and we were approved by USCIS. The embassy sent us a letter saying we can schedule an interview. My wife is waiting on her new passport (with my last name in it). It will take around a month and so I started to apply for some jobs back in the U.S. and I already have been called back for several interviews. I would like to go back to the U.S. in early February (My wife wont have her interview until around the 20th of Feb.) We are living here in Moscow but if I leave my wife will move back to her hometown so her address will change from the one listen on the form I-130. Will my early return to the U.S. and subsequent change of address for the both of us slow things down or possibly make it so we have to start over?

If I do decide to go back early will we have to change any forms? We already have an affidavit from a joint sponsor so will their listing of her address have to change?

Here are the forms with our Moscow Addresses on them: I-130, G-325A I-864 and I-864A.

Thanks.

Daniel

My husband and I are wondering the same thing. We still haven't heard back from USCIS (applied over one month ago in Santo Domingo), and I really need to get back to the US for some family reasons (would also love to start setting up for my husband's arrival).

Does anyone know if I MUST be at the interview if we have DCF'd in country?

Unfortunately, Daniel, I don't know about the change of address, either. I hope you can get some info on that. Best of luck to you all.

we are in Australia and I am leaving for the USA in 4 weeks. Hubby will be here for another 3-4 months until he gets his interview (after NVC stage). Immigration said it was perfectly fine for him to go to the interview on his own.

You're welcome. My situation is different though as we do not have Direct Consular Filing :(

You would think it would be ok though, as it gives you a chance to establish domicile even more in the US before your spouse joins you.

Hi,

I saw today you are from the DR. That changes things a little bit. Before you make up your mind to go before your wife have a look at a few threads. I think it is different because you did DCF, but still look at the threads. I would call to be 100% certain.
