How long can you actually wait to adjust status?

I have loooked and looked and the answer is most people want to get it done ASAP but is there an actual time limit?

There is no deadline for filing AOS. The rule is to get married within 90 days of the beneficiary entering the USA and most people assume they have to send in AOS within those 90 days (me included). However, you can wait longer than that but it is not recommended to wait several months or even years with it. I think the 180 day mark would be a good choice to have everything done and sent off.

ASAP is the actual correct answer 'cus there's not time limit, but then again,who wants to stay out of status for too long?

there is no time limit in submitting the AOS application,as long as you get married within the 90 days window period. i myself submitted our AOS 3 days after my I-94 expired but didnt had any problems. but of course, the earlier the better.
