So who get AOS interview waived?

K-2 interviews, even if they happen, are usually a formality. They want to see the minor child, perhaps ask a couple of questions, and that's about it.

I get that it'd be a formality, but why would K2 get an interview waiver, and not my husband? I have had zero luck finding information about this on here. The applications were sent in at the same time, yet no word for K1. It's very annoying to not only have this weird situation, but to also not be able to really find out information here either. The one person who shared our situation never replied back nor has a timeline. :(

Hi, I don't have a reply, just a question really, we just send my husbands application out yesterday for his AOS, my question is, anyone that has had the actual interview what it was like? I mean what did they ask? And do both husband & wife attend or just him?

We were selected for an aos interview. We didn't understand why, because we had a lot of evidence, and took more evidence to our interview. The lady at the local office kept photos from our photo album, she took random ones. She kept copies of our home insurance and auto insurance. She asked why our car loans were only in my name, and i explained that is because lenders dont want to add a person until they have actual greencard. She was smart, and asked my husband questions in english and i translated them in spanish, then towards the end she asked him questions in spanish, she was bilingual the whole time. She did not show any emotion. At the end of the interview she was quiet and said we were approved. Our interview was about 15-20 minutes. We got an approval letter the same day. (By the way my observation of our file was thick, and bulky, it seemed like the same file that was at the embassy interview. When she took our photos she stapled them to green paper and attached them in our file. She did the same with our insurance. I think she also wrote notes in the file)

We have now filed roc. We submitted proof of our aos interview letter along with other evidence. We are hoping we dont get another interview. We submitted a lot of evidence again, like usual. Its another year long process and again we wait

You WILL likely get an interview for ROC that is for sure. The reason being is that you are filing removal of conditions based on a legitimate marriage. An interview is one of the ways that the CO ensures everything is in order. There us nothing wrong with having an interview. It can strengthen your case.
