Here is the Info from the http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.htmlsite.

Documents the Applicant Must Submit to the NVC Photocopy Requirements

You and each family member immigrating with you to the United States should collect civil documents to support your visa application.

  • You must send photocopies of all required civil documents to the NVC.
  • You must submit the originals (or certified copies) and a photocopy of each of your civil documents to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview.

Does this Jive with your experiences. Many Thanks!!

  • 3 months later...

So if only copies are required do I still have to send in documents to nvc that I have already sent to USCIS? Like our marriage certificate and its translation?

Yes. USCIS keeps that.

Not questioning your word but how do we know that for sure?

Because if you send them originals, people have had to get certified copies to send to the NVC (when you had to supply originals.) If they sent on everything sent to them, instead of just a copy of the petition and maybe the evidence, then this wouldn't be needed. Also just the fact that they're still asking for a photocopy of everything tells me that they do not send it. Edited by NLR
