Watchyou talkin' bout Lewis?

I've never even heard of that form. Moreover, my fiancé was raised by her grandparents and lives with her cousin (for the past 5 years). Her grandparents live in the province, very far from Manila. How could she get such a letter?

I've researched on other threads and largely answered my own question. For those not in the know, it comes only at the CFO stage; not for the embassy. Also, it appears to be a letter that's needed as opposed to a form.

Exactly what the letter needs to say? I don't know. Consent vs. advise? Not clear for 21-22 year olds. Doesn't sound like a big deal.

Only nuance for us will be the family members in position as "parents," but the CFO must have dealt with this before, so I'm not going to stress it.

I love the "when" question. I've been on this excellent website quite a lot the past week, as well as Hank's site. I've since seen huge time variations, not in getting the K1 visa overall, but even through each part of the process. We're talking massive time variations here.

One example: One Petitioner's file took over 45 days just to get from USCIS to NVC. Another's took about a week. That's just one example.

To wit, the very idea of a CO asking my fiancé, "When is the wedding?" is utterly absurd. How can we plan a wedding when we haven't the slightest idea when she's going to get her visa? Just insanity, but I know she'll get that question. I can feel it.

She confidently answered "March" figuring visa would be on hand within a few weeks and then a flight to the USA in February. Edited by luckytwo15

How would I go about getting chat logs for facebook? Do I just screen shot it? Because theres alot of messages between us hahah.. I dont think they'd want to see all of our explicit ones either :-p

Here's the link of how we did it. The CO didn't read the log. She simply saw our stack of approximately 10 pages and moved on with the interview.

My fiancée was 21 when she did CFO. We googled Municipal Form 7 and filled that out. It's the advice form. Her and her parents signed that in front of a notary for something like 200 pesos. The CFO did ask for the letter, which she provided to them and it was acceptable. The USEM did not ask for the letter, but we had it with us just in case.

What do I do with the extra line if her father is deceased? Just leave it blank?

I don't know how far CFO will dig in to the loss of her father. If it was me, I would consider asking my fiancée to take a copy of her father's death certificate to the CFO as the name will match on her birth certificate. The absence of his name on the letter could be interpreted by the CFO that he is alive and doesn't agree with her marrying. She can explain that he has passed, but documents speak louder than words in some cases. Just an idea, but very well too much info.

lucky and Hank, thanks a bunch for your specific input on CFO parental forms. FWIW, my fiancé's aunt (who has been here de facto parent for the past 5 years, already said she'll sign it; hopefully CFO will accept that).

As I mentioned, I'm just not stressed about the CFO--in large part bc I strongly agree with their mission and there concern is for my fiancé's, and all Filipino's well being overseas.

Hey guys sorry for the late reply.. Thanks for all the help.. I have one more concern.. My fiance speaks limited English. But I'm also Filipino..

Would this cause an issue? I mean we speak tagalog when we communicate.. Will there be a translator for her? I'm really scared... We both really love each other and would die if this fails her.. Thanks so much in advance..

Not an issue, the COs speak Tagalog (and there are translators available for most of the dialects). When my asawa had her interview the CO asked her a question in English, she hesitated for a second and the CO without blinking an eye asked her the question in Tagalog which made her grin, she answered in English.

CO will ask interview if they would like English or Tagalog

I watched about dozen interview in November, they no longer have individual rooms for the interview.

I say about 4 people choose Tagalog and I saw a interpreter come up to the window to help the CO's...
