That I think makes a big difference. Here, you'll still get parents looking out for eachother's kids, taking a kid off the ladder to the slide if they don;t take turns etc. But I know in other areas of the country, you'd have the police called on you for touching another parent's child.

And the take away from that was the we all knew that adults were to be respected because they were adults - if for no other reason. I believe many of us brought this notion into adulthood, as we continue to respect others in the same manner we did as kids.

Some parents tell their kids to eat their vegetables. All parents need to keep their mouths shut when it comes to telling other kids and parents to eat their vegetables. However, if you spot a kid without a leash, you may want to call animal control. They should help direct your call to the proper authorities.

I am kind of disappointed in the comments here. The sad thing of the matter is, we should be able to allow our kids to walk to the playground, ALONE, and not worry about them, but the truth of the matter is, we can't. I would have a nervous breakdown to allow this to happen. I would rather for CPS to be called instead of 911 to be called about 2 kids, found in the river, raped and dead. We can thank lenient child rape, child pornography and molestation charges for this growing problem.

Kids almost need their own darn body guard. As society, we have allowed this.

How is a gun going to benefit a kid who's parent don't even have the child in sight? It isn't. You don't know what is happening to the child while they walking down the street, with no grown up.
