Only met once

Hi everybody.

I filed for the K1 visa back in June 2014. My fiance and I met online through a friend on July 21 2013. We were together 9 months before I met him in person. That was in may 2014 and I was there for a month. I'm sure there are more of you out there that only met once since that is the requirement and it does not state you have to visit multiple times. Can any of you share your experiences? Whether you were approved or denied when it came to the interview, I would like to know. Thank u!

We met only once for 10 days.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

I only met my wife once before filing the petition. My 2nd visit to see her in Philippines was for her actual visa interview.

I almost have the same situation as you. Met my fiance online summer of 2013, met him in person May 2014 and stayed with him for a month, then applied in June. I think it isn't always an issue. It depends on the consulate. For me I tried to visit again but I was denied a visa to Pakistan. I sent in the email I have showing that I was denied, just in case they ask about it. I really think it won't be a big deal though.

We met three times. I was there when Olga had her interview in Moscow.

We just completed the Revmoval of Conditions process yesterday.

Good luck!

It depends on the consulate.

This is the chief variable. In general, "face time" is given a lot of weight. A month together, and a consulate not known for being super-particular, are in your favor.

However, and this goes for any consulate, a new Section Chief of the Immigrant Visa Unit can be transferred in at any time, and policies and standards can change unannounced.

In your instance, I'd plan to visit at least once more while the petition is being processed, and accumulate ample evidence of your bona fide relationship.

Edited: OP filed a long time ago.
