Police Certificate Expediting

Sorry for the second question so soon.

We sent off Gary's PC application on Thursday (15th), and he sent it recorded delivery. We paid for it to be expedited, and for recorded delivery return. I calculate that he should receive it on Wednesday the 21st (delivered 16th, processed 19th and 20th, returned 21st), and am curious as to if anyone else has done the expedited option, and how long it took?

I hadn't planned on doing it this way, but c'est la vie.

We are wondering if we should schedule his medical interview for like the 23rd, as it should have arrived by then, or wait the next week? I am flying in on the 22nd, and staying until the 31st and would to be in London with him for his medical, but we also don't want to push it too far as a February embassy interview would be ideal (had to push wedding back 3 times now!)

My fiance had his expedited before his medical. He sent it off on Friday 1/2 and he had his copies in hand before Friday 1/9 (I don't remember the exact date they arrived and just scrolled through days worth of texts to see if I could find it, I just know it was before the end of the week). And his medical was this past Monday. Your fiance should get an email from ACPO saying they've received it. Did he get a delivery tracking option when he mailed it? If so, definitely keep an eye on that. He *should* theoretically get his police certificates before his medical, but it might be cutting it a little close.

Oh wait - I thought you already had your medical scheduled for the 23rd. You might want to call them and see when their next available appointment is. My fiance called 12/22 and his appointment was for 1/12. They might already be booked up for next week.

Also if you're hoping for a February embassy interview date - it might happen? Based on other timelines on VJ, the interview will be roughly 6 weeks after your medical. So keep that in mind.

Thanks! We got him a medical for the 29th, when I will be in the country. We are hoping for February, just because everything else is done and sitting there. I will ask him to check emails, thank you for that! We have already had to move the wedding date twice due to delays at USCIS and NVC, so we are hoping this time it could *maybe* happen. If we push it again it's ok, but not ideal.

I figure we will be the February support group! Seem to be popping in and out of the same threads.

I am hoping for an interview before my birthday (the 27th of Feb). I don't mind care if he has to miss my birthday, as long as interview is done and over and the stress is sedated for a while! It's possible, so who knows.

Im attending his sisters wedding on March 1st here in Oregon so if I had my visa before then it would be AMAZING but Im trying not to get my hopes up! I think it's going to be tight if I succeed!

I think I remember you mentioning that in another post Pheebs. I am hoping you have your visa before then as well! We have been saving away and have the plan that he will pretty much fly back a day or two after getting his visa in hand (he was visiting me for 3 months over the holidays, so he isn't working right now and lives with his parents after moving out of his house). It's all a waiting game now!

I am currently in Oregon (I spent Christmas and my birthday here) and now I wish that my flight home had been sooner as it would have allowed more time for this part of the process, the embassy have had our petition for a month now! I just couldn't afford to change my ticket, it's so expensive! But if I don't have my visa before his sisters wedding I will have to buy a whole new set of flights to go back and forth again- this is a very frustrating and expensive process!

I have an online job which is handy but it doesn't give me a proper salary so I am in a similar position to your guy!

Sounds very similar! Gary was here for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and his birthday. He just left last Wednesday, and I am going to England this Wednesday to attend his medical. The embassy has had our petition since November, because he was here when they got it. :/ But, in the end of it all and many years down the road, this will all just be a blip! Hoping we all get done quickly.
