It doesn't need to be notarised.

It actually should be notarized. This shows that the person who is supposedly writing it is indeed the one signing it. Otherwise we could all send in as many as we like. Some people don't bother with the notary but it certainly helps legitimize the letter.

So this example letter looks okay? And my other 2 friends can use the same statement right?

Rubbish, you could say that about anything submitted to USCIS, including the forms themselves. If USCIS needed them notarized they would say. I've never seen any affidavit rejected because it wasn't notarized.

I am not going to argue with you about this but It is not right to call my recommendation "rubbish" as it is not.

USCIS even explains that affidavits should be witnessed by someone such as a notary. Having a notary sign something helps to legitimize the document. Us signing our own applications is not the same as affidavits from other people.

To the OP... if it is not too inconvenient for your writers of affidavits to pop by their bank or another easily-accessible notary when they are ready to sign the letter they wrote then I still suggest it. The choice is yours obviously.

My IO at Phoenix personally said "those letters without any notarization only colors your file, we don't pay much attention to them." at our interview. You tried to be polite with rubbish word but it is still offensive.

Thank Ms. Hogan & Nancy, i definitely will notarized because they don't mind to do that.

@Lainie, what can i say is the rubbish word was kinda harsh. So i think everyone here has their ones choices about to or not to do the notarized and if you think no need to do that so let it be, and so does with Ms. Hogan's opinion. So this case is same, just like some people sending this affidavit letter or not to send but still they got approved

case closed i already found some example for the letter :)
