Hey guys,

Happy new year. I am brand new to this site and would like to get a few clarifications before i start printing out these forms.

I would also like to give a shout out to all those who sacrifice their time to make the resource available to all people. Much appreciated...

I am trying to bring my wife and son to the states (we had him before i became a citizen) and they both reside in Australia.

Questions: Will i be required to fill out a separate form I-130 for my son?

What of fees for him?

Apart from the Forms G-325A, I-130, G-1145 do i have to fill out any other forms at this stage?

The evidence aspect of this process seems clear enough to me but the forms are a little bit tricky. I would really appreciate somebody breaking it down for me.

Thanks in anticipation of your help people. I would like to avoid the dreaded RFE...

That should be all the forms that you need, aside from evidence. And I also believe that you need to file an I-130 for each relative, but I'm not completely sure.

If you haven't already, read this: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide2

Thanks Mrsk...that's why I need clarity.

If I'm filling the i-130 for my son what visa category will that be under...ir2? Will I also pay a separate filling fee for him? I just need someone to tell me you need to fill out these xyz forms for him separately or he needs to be included in his mother's...

sorry, wrong guide.

OP - it's ONE I-130 form per human. One Fee per human.

Two humans? Two I-130's, Two Fees.

Suggest you have a G-1145 on each I-130

G-325-A Requirements are PER I-130 - that's one on the foreign human, 1 on you, each time, each I-130. Unsure about the G-325-A for a child, though.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thanks so much Darnell...the guide says nothing about a G325 A for a child. Should I assume I don't need to fill that out for him? Also, in the i-130 visa category being applied for...IR2 right? I definitely know it can't be iR1.

Take a look at my timeline. Each of my kids and I had to go through our own EVERYTHING during the I-130 phase. It gets expensive fast! Although the applications will "hang out" together (for lack of a better term) each one will get processed on its own. Everything I sent for my kids went at the same moment as my items but the results varied and the approvals along the way were even spread out a little bit. It was all together in the end but those days in between where one was complete or two were complete and not the third, was very trying!

The 325a is one for you and one for spouse. Not for child.
