yep. as is always the case with visas, especially tourist visas, whenever the CO is leaning towards a denial they actually ask for things. They already make up their mind before even talking to you.

That, msbau, is exactly what my gut is telling me. You said it perfectly.

Conversely, I've seen other posters say the actual interview was fast and easy. "Don't even worry about it!" they'll say. Well, it was fast and easy--for them. For whatever reason, the CO had likely decided he/she was going to approve the visa before the Beneficiary even walked in the room.

After your first refusal of K1, you re-filed for K-1 again, and not spousal visa? They were ok with that?

Good for you it worked out, but I'm nervous applying for K1 again, probably opting to marry her apply for spousal visa.

Yes, we re filed for a K1.

The CR1 would be a better choice to file for you next time around. Though it will take longer, she can work when she comes and you don't have to

adjust status here and it is a bit cheaper.

It's a long story why we chose the K1 again but he is here now and we are married filing AOS soon.

NVC Received : some dinkelsberry yehoo in the house of clingons send our petition to the wrong consulate.

Consulate Received : July 30,2014 Transfer to right embassy complete.

Interview Date : Oct 22, 2014

Interview Result : AP , requesting another PC (not expired) and certified divorce decree (was submitted)Stokes interview via phone for petitioner 4 hrs after interview.

Oct 23 email notification visa approved.
Visa Received : Nov. 3 , 2014 VISA IN HAND.

RFE : June 12, 2015 for income not meeting guideline. Income does ( ! ) exceed guideline.

RFE response : June 26, 2015 returned with a boat load full of financial evidence.

UPDATE: July 5, 2015 updated on all 3 cases, RFE received June 30, 2015.

Service request : Aug 12, 2015, letter received that it will be processed within 90 days from receipt of RFE.

UPDATE: Aug 24, 2015, EAD card being produced/ordered. ( 102 days from AOS receipt day and 55 days from RFE response received.) Thank you Jesus !

Sept. 21 Interview, 2 hour interview, we were separated and asked about 50 questions each for an hour each. IO was firm but professional, some smiles.
Several service requests made, contacted Senator and Ombudsman. Background checks still pending.
July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

Yes, we re filed for a K1.

The CR1 would be a better choice to file for you next time around. Though it will take longer, she can work when she comes and you don't have to

adjust status here and it is a bit cheaper.

It's a long story why we chose the K1 again but he is here now and we are married filing AOS soon.

I love hearing these stories and how everything worked out the 2nd time around! Best of luck for a happy future together and I hope we get our 2nd chance approval as well!

Thank you ! Hoping to encourage people to hang in there and keep pushing forward one step at a time no matter how long it takes.

It took us 5 years with many hurdles to jump until we were together. After that you will be able to tackle anything that comes along because you

don't take each other for granted :luv:
