Medical exams in Packet 3 ?

Hi everybody,

We got packet 3 email from U.S consulate in Cairo and we pretty much did everything but We're still confused about the medical exams. They said in the email :

Medical exam for applicant as attached, medical examination report should be submitted on the day of the visa interview. Applicants are advised to schedule their medical examination 3weeks prior to the date of their visa interview.

Is it just to let us read the instructions and know how our next step going to be or they are asking for something about the medical exams to be sent back with packet 3 ? and why don't they save this step for packet 4 to do right before the interview date !?

From my read of it. They are letting you know that what needs to be done for the medical. So that you can plan. Not sure what the wait time for appts for medical are in your location but if the packet 4 get to you with only 2 weeks till your interview you may have problems. I would say this is a heads up so that you have medical in hand for the interview. Notifications of interviews do not always arrive in a timely manner

Schedule your medical as soon as you get your interview date. When you call to get your medical they will ask what is your interview date, and then they will schedule you on the next available date. Be sure to bring your print out of the packet 3 email to the medical. After you get your results from the medical a few days later you will have to bring it with you to the interview.

Yeah. We got this email too when we were in process. They just have the medical instructions attached in a Word document for information sake. They need you to know ahead of time the instructions. When we were awaiting interviews there were other Cairo people waiting for interview notices that got the notice literally a few days before the interview. so not enough time to do the medical. My way to avoid that was to email the embassy monthly to ask who they were currently scheduling for interviews. When they got close to our date that's when we scheduled the medical. I don't think the medical office requested the interview notice, because we didnt yet have it.

You don't need to send anything now regarding the medical. All they want is that you have it in your hand when you come for the interview. I hope this helps.

One quick questions to fellow Egyptian applicants, will we be notified that the consulate received our packet 3? I've noticed on different forums that some consulates notify them of receipt.
