We initially filed in Feb 2014..our case update was Dec 24 2014 and we are now with our new case number , my curiosity is....

It says our case is ready to be scheduled . ...if you have already scheduled your appointment...???

Please help me understand this..should I call THEM to schedule my appointment ? I haven't received anything in the mail yet and thus was dated Dec 24, 2014

The process will be embassy specific. They should be sending you packet 3 with the docs you need to get ready. Call the embassy to double check.

And geez, your NOA-2 took almost 10 months?! :ranting: OMG, that sucks!

what i dd was to send an email to the Embessy requesting the K1 visa instructions via email(pack 3), they answered me right away, after that, sent ds-160 confirmation page plus passp scan via email, after 10 mins called embassy to make the appointement , done!!! btw i also had 2 case numbers, Good luck!!

Tabeak, yes it's been a long process and we are finally getting to see the light at the end of the tunnel . ..some things are worth waiting for.... but some things can be confusing especially when you are doing it yourself . ... I am going to wait til Monday and see if anything shows up in the mail. I am in USA right now and my mail is being redirected to my daughters address so I don't miss anything. I am just going to my interview in Montreal from here. Fingers crossed

My case says READY as well nvc sent our case on the 8th we can't set up an interview UNTILL the papers get there manually :/ my fiance has all the needed documents ready So I hope it doesn't take too long .. Good luck to you and everyone else on this journey ..( nervousssss for interview )

NVC usually gets the petition to the embassy in 3-5 business days.

Getting through NVC is a big deal these days, be glad you are sent to the embassy.

10 months for a K-1, from TSC is absurd, and un-fair to you, feel bad for you.

Hope the rest of your journey is quicker!

Each embassy may be different, but in my case, when I saw "Ready" status on NVC website, I e-mailed the embassy. They replied within a few hours saying my fiancee can pickup her instruction sheets (aka Packet 3 on VJ). Of course, at the time my fiancee was in US visiting me so we had someone pickup the instruction sheets from the embassy.

Upon her return to Burma, she put together all the required documents and dropped it off at the embassy. Two days later she received a call from the embassy, asking her to go for medical exam at one of their two designated locations. She had to pick one so that they could send paperwork to her desired location.

She has been told that her test results will be forwarded directly to the embassy. We are now waiting for the embassy to call her back with an interview date.

Hope this info helps a bit.
