my dad will be a cosponsor but is married to a filipina who is also working...my wife is coming from the philippines also..will my dad be enough for my wife or do i need to add my step mom as well?my dad makes around 30,000 a year and my step mom makes around 15,000...i lost my good job at the beginning of the year and lost transportation so im getting back on my feet and work part time at walmart.once i get another car then i can get a better job.so to be on the safe side my dad/step mom will be cosponsors but need to know if those are good enough or if my dad should be sufficient or how it all works?i just got an email earlier today saying the lockbox got the visa petetion and sending it to the texas center and then i was reminded about cosponsor and want to prepare everything ahead of time.

The correct term is "joint sponsor."

How much is needed is in the poverty guidelines on the I-864P which changes from year to year. You' need to look up the number of people in your dad's household, plus the immigrant.
