I'm not suggesting that they should be forced to. I'm suggesting that, as human beings, they should have had the common decency to go through with the funeral after it had started when the reason for them to cancel it was due to their own failure to check materials for appropriateness. I also think they should have immediately refunded the money to the family.

And I also think that, just as the church has the right to suck, the people protesting have the right to protest and to express their displeasure with the situation.

Its a funeral, death and bereavement are one of the things people seek comfort from in the church. Its not about judging and marginalising people.

That is precisely my point. Everything about Jesus' life is hearsay. He never left any written gospel and everything written about him was done by others well after the fact. All you need do is read the papers today and realize that each publication reports the same story differently. There are always discrepancies when eye witnesses render their account to an event after a few hours or days.

To answer your question, I believe that every written account of JC's life available to us today through the apocrypha has been translated, adapted, rehashed and embellished, several times over through the centuries, for obvious political and economic reasons. There is evidence to that in that It is known the church has chosen to exclude several books from the final gospel.

It says God will forgive us for our sins if we just ask and confess Jesus. I married a Buddhist, but I love him dearly. If this is a sin, God will forgive me. He wants us to live an eternal, happy life
