DCF - Manila, PHL - Have MNL Case Number!

Filed DCF directly with USCIS-Manila last December 11, 2014.

Didn't hear anything and with the holidays I wasn't expecting much, but I know that approval via DCF in Manila comes relatively fast.

Called up USCIS-Manila on the first day of business in the New Year, last January 5, and found out our I-130 was approved last December 24, 2014.

Emailed the Immigrant Visa Unit that same day, and no response at all last week. (They might have been swamped with work that might have backlogged over the holidays).

I refrained from emailing everyday last week since on their contact info page on the USEM website says not to send repeated inquiries so as not to clog the system.

So I emailed again after a week, yesterday.

I got an reply today from the IV Unit-Manila giving our MNL Case Number as well as the Packet 3 info.

Thank God. Time to get busy with all the paperwork & requirements for the IV, medical, interview, etc.

So a helpful tip, especially those who are filing DCF in Manila, is to be diligent and followup via phone & email when possible. The postal system here in the Philippines sucks. I've read of VJ members who are already in the States, never even having received a mailed-hard copy of their I-130 approval (NOA2). So despite USCIS-Manila saying it'll take 1-2 months for them to process and approve, be sure to check up anyway.

I emailed the IV Unit Manila asking for the MNL Case Number. In the time since we've done that, the number has changed. Look it up under Immigrant Visa on the US Embassy Website.

Please read my thread on my link below for a overview of what we did.

thanks aquafiree! I actually called the (632) 976-8500 for case number but the lady told me that they don't have that information so she gave me the NVC number to call in the states. The lady told me that NVC will contact me and inform me of through email or mail. they don't have my manila case number.

mydonna,

Did you specify that you filed the I-130 directly with the US Embassy in Manila? There is no NVC step for DCF filers. NVC is only involved if you filed from the States using the USCIS Lockbox system.

Call them again.

Thanks for the advices manilaraf, so we keep calling everyday already theyre all saying the same. That we have to wait for their email. And that they cannot do anything from their. :( WE keep calling this number 02 976 8500 . Then i found out the one who applied the day after we applied did the same thing keeps calling for and just last tuesday they already had an email saying that their case or petition has been approved 4 days after they file it.. the operators who answers keeps telling us that they cant do anything from their end. We even ask if they can just check it out if it has been approved or we nee any additional documents though, they said nope they cant do anything and we just have to wait, they keep asking the same thing, they said for them to make a profile for us. :(

Ishiza

I've been trying to help you via our private message conversation. But you seemed to have glossed over or ignored my last one

This is the result of not knowing the difference between the US Department of State and the USCIS. Or just seeing the Embassy as just a singular entity.

You. Are. Calling. The. Wrong. Number.

You are calling the Immigrant Visa Unit inquiry line. You need to directly call the offices of USCIS Manila.
