As far as it being because she is German goes, most Jews don't have issues with the Germans. In fact, Germany has one of the fastest growing Jewish populations, yet again, in the last couple decades especially. Many Israeli Jews and Jews from all over the world emigrate to Germany these days. And it's been under 70 years. So I think all in all, Jews have coped with it very well.
