Processing Center Question NOA1

Hello,

Question about the Processing Center handling the K1 visa. Received this email NOA1 and it states that it was routed to the USCIS Texas Service Center for processing. Does that mean it will be processed at the TSC or forwarded to the Service Center that handles the petitioner's geographic region from there and is just being routed through Texas because it was mailed to the Texas Lockbox. Is there someplace to check online through USCIS about where it is being handled, the information available through My Case Status is not insightful and the phone hotline is less than helpful.

Text of USCIS email follows:

Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Texas Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number ###############. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.

This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your case. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration status or benefit. Further, this notice does NOT constitute evidence that your case remains pending with USCIS. The current status of your case must be verified with USCIS.

All petitions are sent to the Dallas lockbox, this does not influence where it is then processed.

It is being sent to TSC, where it will be processed, based on what state you live in.

So some states go to CSC, the rest, TSC. So it is geographical in that sense.

They are not processed at the VSC any longer?

No vsc. In 2013, they transferred the cases from VSC to TSC and so now it's just TSC and CSC.

Sorry, but you're stuck at TSC with the rest of us forgotten children.

D&L2226, thanks for posting, because I just received my email and text with this today.
