So I passed my interview on Friday! :) I am super happy! Iv gone for the choice of going picking it up (in manchester) because I heard it may be quicker by a day. So from the experience in this forum my question is do you think it will arive by Friday? I checked today and it said "administrative processing"

congrats on passing your interview. Now you're in administrative processing. That process may take months. My fiance is still in AP!!! and his interview was over a year ago!!! So good luck if your AP is not months or years!!!

Couldn't say whether you'll get it by Friday, but don't worry about AP. It's usually just a formality for the UK Embassy. Mine was in it for a day and a half from what I remember.

It is very uncommon for someone to be in AP for more than a couple of days with the London Embassy. I am sorry to hear about your experience, is this more common with your embassy?

OP- Their standard advice is 6-10 days. With my previous J1 visas, I've always had them delivered to my house and this has typically taken no more than a week. Remember not to book your plane ticket until your visa is in hand! Congrats and good luck!

Let me clarify AP. It means administrative processing...paper shuffling prior to visa issuance. All UK people get that. I have seen it be from two hours to a week and lately more like 2-3 days. However, if a person does not pass the final clearance for security, the processing can go on for weeks, months, a year.... even in London. Most often that is people who are not born and raised Brits. Those with a passport from, or ties to the Middle East, Pakistan, India, terrorist or Muslim countries are affected by the longer administrative processing. If your name matches any hit in the database of suspected persons, then they have to spend more time researching that the terrorist is not you.

I had my interview on wednesday last week and he said all approved, I have chosen the pick up option. How do you track it?

I was wondering this too! I had my interview yesterday, was approved and now ceac status says 'Issued'. I chose to pick up from local courier depot but then realised that I forgot to ask how I find out when to go get it!?

You get an email once it is turned over to the courier.

Thanks, another revelation for me.

but tried my dv number and its not recognising it? Is it another number? I tried 2015AF000.....

I don't know. All the rest of us had numbers LNDxxxxxxxxxx. You're the only DV winner I've ever known.

Maybe try the LND in front of your number?? Or just be surprised when you get the email.
