Hi all!

We received our NOA2 December 22, and have been calling the NVC every couple of days to try and get our new case number, but no luck so far.

My fiancee has been granted approval from her company to take an absence from February 1st-April 31st. Before we got her approval, we were planning on her coming to the states and to stay with me for those three months. However, now we are a bit nervous about the timing of everything and the expiration date on our NOA2, which is April 19th.

Is it reasonable to have my fiancee come February-early April? We were thinking that we do her medical before she comes, or if not able, to schedule her medical in April. I have read that it is "okay" for an NAO to expire and that the embassy will extend the period. We will of course have all of our other paperwork completed and then just submit our "Ready for Interview" paperwork in April (have her interview in May or June then), when she will be back in her home country.

Let me know what your thoughts are. I would love for her to be able to stay as long as she possibly can during her approved time off.

I have my NOA2 Dec23 and I still have not gotten case number either. from looking on this site it seems like it been taken close to the 42 days that they are quoting on the phone. My is a spousal visa, I think you will get a case number faster with a Fiancee visa but that I am not real sure about that it just look like on this site people filing I-129f petitions have been getting Case number faster From NVC

it sounds like you will probably be not approve before your time, I hope you are but you will be cutting it very close

yes an NOA2 after expire will most likely be extended automatic

Hi all!

We received our NOA2 December 22, and have been calling the NVC every couple of days to try and get our new case number, but no luck so far.

Some say CSC doesn't even send out the case to NVC for weeks. Once at NVC you could get a number and shipped out to London fairly quickly.

Is it reasonable to have my fiancee come February-early April?

It isn't reasonable to me when she could move forever by April, but as far as the process, she could delay that long. If the interview doesn't happen by the expiration of your petition, the petitioner is asked by London to write a new letter of intent. The beneficiary takes it to the interview.

We were thinking that we do her medical before she comes, or if not able, to schedule her medical in April. We will of course have all of our other paperwork completed and then just submit our "Ready for Interview" paperwork in April (have her interview in May or June then), when she will be back in her home country.

The visa will be valid for six months following the medical exam so figure that into your planning. A medical in January would require a visa and travel by July.

If you intend to delay for several months, then there is no reason to go through the hassle of calling NVC every few days. Calling for a case number is not a requirement.
