Hello everyone,

I am crossing the milestones one by one in this journey & thanks VJ for being there all the time. I received a mail saying my Green Card has been sent for production. It is expected anytime within 30 days... that is what the email says. Now my problem is, I have planned my India trip & booked the tickets for January 19th. Since this is my first visit after my marriage, my dear hubby granted me a long vacation. I am returning on March 16. so my question is, When the card is mailed & if I am not available physically at that time, what happens? Do they deliver it in my mail box or it goes back to USCIS? If yes, how to get it back? and is there any chance of a miracle that I receive my Green Card before I leave on Jan 19?? :dancing:

Hi,

First of all, they will put it in the mailbox even if you are not physically present. It is possible to receive it by January 19. We received ours within ten days of the original email stating it was sent for production.

Either way you will be fine for India. You still have a valid AP card.

Can someone who has an issued green card (whether or not it is in that person's physical possession) use their EAD/AP combo card to re-enter the U.S.?

Yes, I am aware that I can travel internationally with my EAD/AP, was more worried about not physically present at the time of my Green card delivery. Thank you for your reply.
