Hi everyone,

I'm technically a December filer, they received my AOS and EAD packet on the 29th. I had requested an expedite on my EAD and I received a letter stating that they needed me to complete my biometrics appointment before they make a decision; I went to my appointment on January 23rd and had to request a second expedite once completed. At the beginning of February they sent an RFE for my marriage certificate (which I know for a fact that they already have a copy in the packet), once again they stopped my expedite stating that they required this to move forward and for me to request a THIRD expedite. My EAD case number still states the original message, that they received my I-765, however, my AOS now is showing that they received my RFE and that they should have a decision or an update by April 6th..... WHAT??? I'm confused.. So they will have an update on my Adjustment of Status BEFORE I even get my EAD? This is getting ridiculous.

Sorry, a little rant-ish, but this is where I am so far. I can't wait for it to be over.

I had an RFE and sent my evidence back to them the following day, a little over two weeks ago now. My case status hasn't updated on USCIS or anything, it still says they have sent me an RFE.

Any idea how long it will take for them to pick up my case again? Will I get a receipt for the evidence that I sent in?

I'm not 100% certain on how it works but if I were in your shoes I would give them a call and ask them to confirm if they have received the package, I saw in another forum someone waiting and waiting and Uscis claimed they had not received anything since they sent the RFE, while the usps tracking code said it had been delivered.

I received our RFE in the mail today. They want further evidence for financial support. They want the most current tax year. When I initially sent in the package I included the taxes from 2013. So I guess my husband will have to do his taxes for 2014 before we can send it in for evidence?? I guess we didn't do it because I thought that taxes were done in April for the previous year. At least that's when I thought they get done in Canada. I always go to H&R block, so I know nothing about taxes. But anyways...

They also want proof of his income. I am sure (because I made copies of everything) that I sent them a copy of his contract stating his salary (which is above the poverty line). I also sent in that same information with my K1 fiance visa petition. Why can't they look and see all the information from the K1 visa!? Also they're the government, why can't they see the damn tax information!?

This whole thing makes me want to scream. But, now that I am actually with my love it's definitely much easier :)

It turns out I can't do maths, and it had only been a week since I'd sent in my RFE response, and there had been Presidents' Day on Monday. My case status was updated yesterday to say they have received my evidence and are working on the case again. Phew!

We filed for AOS + AP + EAD on Jan 16th, got all 3 NOAs on Jan 22nd. Did the biometrics on Feb 10th and got an RFE on Feb 16th.

Like a lot of you they're asking for documents we did send! Marriage certificate and financial support in our case.

We saw a lawyer (we have some other tricky issues going on) today and she said that a lot of times USCIS will send an RFE to buy themselves more time: technically they're supposed to process the case in 90 days, but sending an RFE buys them an extra 60 days (so in response to some of you, no the RFE doesn't restart the 90 days but it does add another 60 days apparently).

We were super depressed and frustrated but thanks to the lawyer and a lot of valuable advice from visajourney forums we feel a lot better! It's nice to see we're all together in this mess lol! We wish everyone a lot of luck and courage in this nerve racking process, and congratulations to those of you who got approved already :D
