Hi, all,

Today, I got an Email saying that my EAD card had been ordered. This is good.

However, I applied for my GC at the same time. It was transferred to the CSC for processing about four weeks ago and has been 'touched' three times - in quick succession, but not since 1/20.

I was wondering whether the EAD and the GC application are linked in that perhaps someone has decided I wasn't going to get the GC before the 90-day limit on the EAD and so authorized my EAD. Or aren't the two applications linked like that?

Bit of a vague/obtuse question, I know. But my wife is a little worried as we are hoping to buy a house soon and I'm not sure we can buy one without my having a GC.

Any comments welcome.

They are unrelated and there is no maximum window that the GC has to be processed in like the EAD (although even that isn't always processed in 90 days), some have waited years but of course hopefully this isn't the case with you.
