Ok, so today I had my biometrics at 8 am. Yesterday I looked the address on a map and on google earth, and made sure we knew where it was, so we wouldn't be late.

The address was "458 Canals St., San Juan."

Today we got up early, and drove there just to find out that on Canals St., the numbers only go as high as 270, and we looked all over and there was NO Biometrics Office. So first we called information and asked for the biometric office phone number, and we gave the address. They gave us a local number and we called and, of course, nobody picked up. So I said "The District Office is in a different address" and we decided to go there and ask for information.

The drive is about 25-40 minutes from one place to the other but midway we come accross the main post office building, and we though "hey, we should ask them there 'cus they have an address database" and sure enough, the lady informed us that the biometrics office was on the corner of canals street, facing another street, but that it was there and all that.

So we drove all the way back and looked all over for the building and it simply DOESN'T exist.

Already fuming we went to the District Office just to find out it was closed. Sure. It's Saturday. Of course the process of finding the District Office was another pain 'cus we hadn't studied the map and we were lost for a while. Completely frustrated, upset, sad, I came to terms that I missed my biometrics, we called the biometrics office again and left a message with my name, case number, saying that we tried going and couldn't find it, to keep it on record.

We drove all the way back home and I arrived here at noon. I went to google and did a search again, and what do I come up wtih? A list of biometric offices and Puerto Rico's office was right there, directions? "458 Ingeniero Jose Canals St., San Juan." in a COMPLETELY different neighborhood. So there we go again and this time we found it easily and it was completely empty and they were all trully nice and I got my fingerprinting and photo done in a a few minutes. Then I said "Listen, in my letter the address says this address and I spent the entire morning looking for it, had to look online, bla bla bla" and the official just nodded at me and said "oh yeah, everybody comes here saying the same, they have to go back home and search it up in the net, 'cus the letters all come with the address that way and people get confused" he said all that smiling and then added "you can write a complaint about it here if you want" and gave me a suggestions papers and also a look of "as if anybody would do anything".

Can you believe USCIS sometimes?!?!?!

Btw, I want to work in this office, I was the ONLY person there except for one girl leaving when I was coming in.

I was amazed at how they can put down the wrong address, know about it, and leave it at that. And not only that you can't even call to try and figure out what you did wrong. :o

Wow, what a story! I'm so happy that you sorted it all out!!

It's good that they don't give you a specific time to be fingerprinted, just the date...

My letter actually said 8 am, so I was also scared they'd say I was too late.

Glad it all worked out for you too! The office in Atlanta where Joel had to go for biometrics isn't hard to find, as far as the actual address is concerned. However, the building is down the hill and behind the actual building facing the street. I just love playing hide and seek!

Just remember where it is when you have to go back for more fingerprinting sometime! Or if you know someone else who has to go.

But then knowing USCIS, they'll move to Canal Street to the address they've put on the letters er summat :P
