I have a pending GC since May 2014, did service request a month ago for it has gone beyond processing time. I applied renewal for my EAD November 21, 2014 cause it is about to expire on February 9. I have called the USCIS today asking if I have to stop working upon the expiration of my EAD whilst the renewal is still pending. The rep said that I have to discuss it with my employer if they will still allow me to work. But my concern was, is it going to be a violation of the immigration law to continue working even if my ead has already expired? And she keep saying that it is between me and my employer. She doesn't even know the meaning of the word "violation".

Does anybody here knows better than the USCIS representative who know nothing about immigration law? And also, I wanna know if there is anything I can do to speed this up.

Thank you all!
