K-1 Visa I-134 form

Hello,

I am currently in my final year of studies. I am a U.S. born citizen. My partner and I have been together for the past two years and are considering marriage. We are considering the k-1 visa due to it being quicker. However, I have just recently started working; Got a job last fall of 2014. It is only a part-time job, however I could potentially increase my work hours. I currently work 25 hours per week at a rate of $15, which leaves me at around $18,000 a year roughly before taxes. However like I said I’ve only had this job for the past 3 months.

Will I still be able to fill a sufficient I-134 form? They require the most recent tax year, in this case with be 2014 with only those 3 months of work. I currently live with my parents and they have also opened up their home to us in order for us to save money. Is there any way we could include that information?

In the instruction package for k-visa applicants for Vietnamese citizens it states:

When applicable, joint sponsor must include all of the documents listed above, plus proof of immigration status such as a photocopy of his/her U.S. Birth Certificate, U.S. Passport, Naturalization Certificate, or Lawful Permanent Resident Card. The officer will make the decision whether a joint sponsor will be accepted at the interview.”

Does this mean there is a possibility I could get a co-sponsor?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think if your salary is $18,000 and you have a steady job, it would be fine. I would submit copies of the paystubs and an employment letter from your employer as supporting documents for the I-134.

I believe the consulate in HCMC allows co-sponsor(s).
