Hi all

i am wonder for those of you who have just made your interview date and medical interview appointments for IOM.

1) How long is the wait for a Embassy appointment?? 2) after filling out the ds-160 and paying the fee what was the schedule like?

3) How far out were the appointments one week-two weeks or like one month two months?

4) Also for the IOM how long was the wait for an appointment date?

5) how long was the NVC process for you? 6) then from NOA2 until embassy interview??

thanks so much and best of luck for all in the journey wherever you are in the process may it be quick and painless for all lol

hope so one can shed some light on this for me.

7) one final question how far is the embassy from the center of nairobi by bus time wise?

thanks again Ricciardo

Hi

The IOM Medicals appt you need to book 2 weeks before your Embassy interview date , The IOM will get back and tell you your appt dates within 2,3-4 days, you need to send :

Kindly note that we will schedule your appointment upon presentation of the following documents either in hard copy or softcopy emailed to iomnbomedical@iom.int

1. Copy of valid passport’s bio-data page for each family member

2. Your letter which has your case/file number and

3. A digital recent photograph taken on a white background (2”x2”)as per the immigration requirement

- once you have worked on Ds160 and payed visa fee you need to book embassy interview , the nairobi embassy doesnt book for k1 visa people .

- Nairobi town to Gigiri where USA Embassy is 30min but to be safe coz of traffic leave 1hr before your interview time.

Good Luck

hi, thank you both for the reply it is most appreciated.

which appointment should we schedule first the embassy or IOM?

which one is a longer wait to get and or harder to get?

where will we get the letter from with the "case/file number" since NVC can take a long time to send a letter if at all.

from my understanding most people call NVC to get the # and then are able to make the appt at IOM is that true?

how are the embassy appointment schedules? are they easy to get or do they get booked up right away?

thank you so much

Ricciardo

hi, thank you both for the reply it is most appreciated.

which appointment should we schedule first the embassy or IOM? You will need you medical clearance before your interview.

which one is a longer wait to get and or harder to get? IOM IOM is very easy to make an appointment, its a 2 day process. The interview as a K-1 you must book yourself and you have to check for openings so it may be a little more lengthy process but the medicals must be submitted for the interview.

where will we get the letter from with the "case/file number" since NVC can take a long time to send a letter if at all. NVC must send the P4 letter because IOM will want it to schedule your medical.

from my understanding most people call NVC to get the # and then are able to make the appt at IOM is that true? Your case file number will be assign by NVC but you may call them to keep checking to see exactly when it gets assigned. You will not be able to make an appointment until you get CC from NVC.

how are the embassy appointment schedules? are they easy to get or do they get booked up right away? SEE RESPONSE #2

thank you so much Let me know if you are not clear or need any other info that I can answer.

Thank you so much!

Does it seem normal to have been at NVC for over 40 days without the case being sent to Nairobi? I have talked to them 2x and they just say that administrative work is being done to it before being sent. Just looking for some affirmation. Thanks!

Hmmm once we got CC our file was shipped the first week of Dec. for our Jan. interview date. Yes that's long if you are case complete.

I have a K1 visa in process at the Nairobi embassy as well. Our case was at NVC for about a month before they sent it to the embassy. I wouldn't worry too much just yet.
