Puerto Rico travel on K1

Hey guys- thanks for checking out my post I've read up on this topic and can't seem to get a definitive answer. I would love to hear from anyone that has actually travelled to Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands on a K1 visa. How was the experience? Did you have any issues? I'm Sure there are others that are curious about this especially with trying to plan honeymoons. Thanks in advance!

Read 5.12 and you may get some answers. If I were you I would not risk it and got somewhere else in the US, or wait until you have AP and that is not even a guarantee. Good luck and hope this helps!

PR is a US Territory like Hawaii or Alaska, its like traveling to another state

as a K1, just make sure you tell the truth of your status as if U were spot checked

anywhere on the mainland, They do have checks from time to time boarding for

the mainland (upper states) but its not considered leaving the US.You can call

them and verify even with the airlines, they are well verse on rules these days

The scuttlebutt on VJ from over the years indicates that, from a risk standpoint (diversion to non-U.S. locales or being hassled by CBP) it's better to stay away from these areas until you have Advance Parole at least. There are plenty of scenic honeymoon locations within the lower 48 states and Hawaii.

I am from Puerto Rico (also a K-1 petitioner celebrating my NOA2 and now waiting for NVC I hope to be with my fiancee really soon and relax in Puerto Rico's beaches) and every time I had travel to continental US I had never needed to show any documents to any officer in my life. Also true when coming back from US to Puerto Rico. I can assure you that.

As other had already said you can travel to any US territory as long as you travel nonstop from the mainland but if there is an emergency that the airplane needs to stop in foreign soil then that can be a problem because you will need to go through immigration there. Also while you are on the US territory make sure you never go on visitting any neighbor island. Just in case: I see you are waiting for your NOA2 I hope you receive it soon. I wanted to say remember not to do any solids plan just yet. I had read many stories about people that had made solids plans and then they need to change everything because of not receiving the visa when they expected. (I am just saying just in case) I hope you can understand what I mean!!
