Hey Nelly did your 485 case get the "ready for interview" update online? I'm still on "fingerprint fee received"...

Nope, not in interview yet.

I received mail for the approving EAD and Travel permit yesterday (April 15th), last night I also got a text with tracking number for the card, got a text saying it was mailed on the 15th in the morning. Tracking number show that is schedule to arrive this Friday.

All I wanted was the EAD. So to me it doesn't matter if the interview and greencard takes forever to get here.

My wife is the only one working, so it has being hard. I have started looking for jobs, and have the starting date on Monday, just in case it takes an extra day to arrive, and I get offers right away.

I had offers of work in December and January, but I had no EAD. :(

But I'm sure I can find something soon.

I'll reply again as soon as I get another update. ;)

Got my card on the mail yesterday as scheduled.

Will be applying for a SSN on Monday.

Anyone know how long it takes to get the number?

Congratulations !

Hey guys, an update. Our interview was today. It went smoothly (we pretty much drowned them in paperwork - all kinds - leases, statements, letters, publications, etc). In fact, we brought some extra and at the end the IO didn't want to take some extra statements + other paperwork we had, citing they had enough.

But long story short, they asked me the yes/no questions, both of us our and the spouse's DOB, name, address, me the date of marriage... And that's that. We're approved, told to expect the card in the mail in 2-3 weeks. :)

Hi everyone. I'm new here but checking in. I was hoping to get an interview letter in April assuming average wait time is ~3 months since submitting the AOS package. Well, I did get a letter from USCIS today but it wasn't what I expected. It said that the interview may be waived, but it also said that due to increased workloads, expect to wait 6 MONTHS before your case is completed.

Feeling discouraged... anyone else get this letter???

Funny, I signed up for electronic notifications and it worked when they first received it. But, now I stopped getting updates! Like, I got my EAD without getting an e-mail or a text message!

Also, how do I attach my timeline to the end of this post...?

With mention of possible waiver . . . it sounds like you are in K-1 process.

This forum is for those adjusting from Student, Tourist and Work visas.

There is a separate forum for K-1 filers, and there they are well aware of the waiver, etc.

Here is the forum:

Hey, did they by any chance ask you for the original birth certificate? I'm just a bit worried that I lost mine when my backpack was stolen, but I have a certified, notarized copy...

No, they didn't, but we overwhelmed them with paperwork and evidence and they didn't want anything from us other than being sworn in and getting throught the "mandatory" questions.
