Rescheduling of interview.

Greetings to all,

Can someone please help me with this. How long does it takes when someone is asking a U.S. embassy to reschedule his/her interview date due to some reasons. I have written the U.S. embassy in accra to reschedule my interview date which is next month due to some reasons. If I can get two weeks to a month from my previous interview date would be just fine for me. Still waiting to get a reply from the embassy this week. Thanks to all members who has been helping in this forum.

It varies by embassy but usually, they will push you right to the back of the scheduling line which means a reschedule is likely to take months rather than weeks- some embassies can't even tell you when you can have a new appointment until some future date. For this reason the usual advice is not to reschedule unless it's absolutely critical.

The Embassy rescheduled my fiance's interview because they needed additional information. The rescheduled interview was nearly 3 months after the initial interview.

12/05/2014 K-1 packet recieved
12/09/2013 Received email and text of NOA1
12//2013 Hard copy of NOA1 received
12/13/2013 Called to speak with tier 2 supervisor to fix errors on I-129F & G325A in hopes of preempting RFE
12/19/2013 Alien registration number changed
04/01/2014 NOA2 (apparently changes preempted RFE)
4/11/2014 NVC Received

4/15/2014 NVC left

4/22/2014 Consulate Received

5/07/2014 Picked up packet 1

5/20/2014 Interview 1 (asked to correct error on bring birth certificate and bring more evidence of relationship)

7/29/2014 Interview 2 (passed visa will be issued on 8/01/2014)

Thanks to all of you for your responses. I received an email from the embassy early yesterday morning that they not reschedule initial dv interview and if I miss my interview day the process will be finished. So I will have to sit my interview with all documents required. Its my pray that everything goes well with me and all other successful dv applicants on here.

I'm not surprised by the response. A DV2015 selectee current and scheduled to be interviewed in Nov 2014 had contacted the embassy in Accra and requested to move the date. He got rescheduled for Aug 2015.

Anyway, good luck with your interview.
