This is half to vent, half to see if anyone has had a similar problem.

A few weeks ago I received my AOS appt letter. I read what we needed to bring to the interview, and promptly ordered a marriage certificate online from Ontario. (I had sent off the only one I had with my AOS app, with request they return it, and never did...which is another story).

To be sure Ontario knew I needed the cert by Feb 5th, I faxed them a copy of the appt letter and requested it be expedited. Two weeks later (this past), I still have not received it. I have been in touch with some woman who says it was put in regular mail Jan 16th, and so they cant track it, but yes it was sent to the right address.

Today is Saturday. My appt is on Monday. Thanks to Ontario, I do not have my marriage cert, for a visa based on a ...marriage. AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

I called the USCIS customer service, and the girl says she cant say they'll deny me on the spot, and I cant postpone the appt. She said go anyway and explain what happened.

Any thoughts?

I am going to go without it , and give them the Ontario lady's contact information - they should be able to verfiy even through her, that yes we are married, ...or just look up the one I sent them already....FRIG

They should have the marriage certificate you submitted with the AOS. Bring copies of your correspondence with the Ontario Government with you to the interview if you haven't received the extra copy by the time of your interview. At the very worst they will not approve you at the interview but request the outstanding document - IF they don't have it - and approve you after they receive it. If you continue to have trouble getting the document, get in touch with your MPP from where you used to live and see if they can intervene on your behalf. Good luck - I suspect everything will be ok.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
