Hi guys! Long time no post :)

I have read a lot about interview cancellation notices here on forum but nothing seems to be similar to my case. Some people get cancellation notice before their interview and it looks like it happens a lot lately. I got one too, and it looks like that:

"This is to advise you that, due to unforeen circumstances, we have canceled the previously scheduled interview on January 29, 2007 at 9:45AM for the above applicant. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. You will be notified of any further action taken on this case, including any reschdeduled interview information, under separate notice."

The problem is that we already had our interview on January 29th and we were told that our case has been approved, only background check is not completed yet, so we have to wait for that.

Another thing is the date of our interview cancellation notice which is January 30th is the day after our original interview date!!!! How can you cancel something what already took place? Maybe you can, I don't know anymore and it starts to worry me.

Anyone with similar experience?

Monika

hehehe, left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, obviously! The cancellation probably stems from the fact that your security clearance isn't completed yet and there was a statement last fall that all interviews were to be scheduled for after the completion of security checks. It sounds like they scheduled your interview, then someone realized that the security clearance wasn't in yet and cancelled it but all of the information had meanwhile been forwarded to where you had the interview. So, while you may wish to call the 'mis-information' line and see if you can speak to an immigration officer, I suspect you are ok and just need to wait until the clearance does come through. Isn't it great to see government efficiency at work?

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I guess we will just call that 'mis-information' line (:lol::lol: ) on Monday to see what they have to say in order to confuse us even more than we are right now. It just makes me wonder what on earth is going on there. Maybe we will get another interview invitation letter? Yeah, I can see it coming!
