Processing times updated on the 17th of every month?

Guys,

I just noticed today that the current processing times on USCIS's website indicated that this processing times are as of January 17th, and if i remember correctly, the last processing time was December 17th. so can i assume that USCIS updates their processing times every 17th of the month??

in addition, does anyone know whether the files they are processed are moving one months at a time ?? for example, MSC is saying that as of January 17th, they are processing EAD received October 30th, now when they update the processing times in February 17th, should we expect the new update to say that they are processing EAD filed in November 30th (or around that) or not??? has anybody been keeping an eye on these and know if there is a trend?

even though in my question i gave the example of EAD and MSC but i was just curious about the general processing of any application at any USCIS office.

Yes, I think it's always the 17th that they update, once a month. But they processing dates definitely don't move up a month each time. Sometimes the processing date only moves up by a couple days, sometimes it stays the same, I've even seen them go back.

that's what i thought.

So when does an application get transfered from MSC to the District office. in my case, my DO is in Pittsburgh and both Pittsburgh office and MSC have the same processing times for everything. for example my applicatin was received by MSC in late december, so is it when MSC's timeline says processing December when my application gets transfered to pittsburgh? and then there would be a wait for the pittsburgh processing as well??

They tend to wobble back and forth a little bit. I can recall as early as the 12'th.

I can also recall a time that they took much more than a month (I think it was closer to 2 months) to update it.. basically they do it whenever they want..

i was afraid of that being the case too. i guess they kinda have this processing time up so that not everyone calls them and start asking them "hey, where you at?"

Actually, last year, they updated every two weeks. Then came the holidays and they've been late ever since. But, again, they do whatever they want....... Hopefully, they'll get back to "normal" soon...... I think we all want that September 25, 2005 date to be updated! LOL:)

That was for the employment based applications. There is no mention of family based immigration application times. Methinks I am soooo foncused.
