Hey,

First off thanks for those avid posters, admins and creators of this page. This does help ease a lot of the anxiety of this process..Onto my question,..

I want to file for this visa HOWEVER I will be in the Philippines with her in about 3 or 4 months working at a dive shop (of course she is a filipina so she will be with me) for quite a while

my question is...What if they send me mail to my us address? Is there anything I would need to respond to? OR would I be able to take care of everything there just as I would here?

Thank you so much

include the G-1145 with the initial submittal.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Ok, This would allow me to follow up on anything via email?

If you mean send in documents via e-mail, I don't think it will. The G-1145 just means they'll send you an email once your petition is received.

If you have visa that allows you stay in Philippines over 6 months, you can just marry here in Philippines and do a DCF visa, Usually can get approved in a few weeks.

go dig in the PI forum, find one of Hank_ 's posts, study the content in the link in his signature,

then you can have the entire compendium of what to do to successfully chase a K-1 with a Visa Interview in the PI.

I ask you read it, all, then if you need to, refactor your plan...

Who is going to be collecting your mail?

If you don't miss anything that would cause an RFE you will only get two documents from USCIS; NOA1 and NOA2.

Thanks!

The NOA1 is the notice that USCIS received your package. The NOA2 is notice that your petition has been approved (or ???) ... once you have this everything moves to NVC where you get the MNL # and it is ROCK n ROLL time in Manila.

Your room mates can email you a copy of those. The NOA 2 you will need later so keep that safe. You get an RFE whole different story

The link I posted to you is for the Philippines forum... you WILL want to get to know that place come embassy time.
