I couldn't agree more. I am only in week 1 of this long K-1 process and when I see these quick Philippines approvals I know it's just giving me false hopes.

It also breaks my heart to see some people still waiting after 9 months, however some people who apply later get approved almost immediately.

I'm starting to think I may need to stay away from Visa Journey until I hear some good news.

No harsh feelings, and good luck to all.

Yup to everything you said. Sometimes I have to stop checking vj for a week or 2 to stop from being upset about the unfairness of the process. We drew the short end of the stick for sure. Philippines filers expedites skews the data so give us all false hope until you realize what's happening. CSC timelines just make me angry. There's a thread in the process forum called "noa2 in 16 days" that just makes me want to throw rocks through people's windows.

But I always come back because this is the only place where other people actually understand what this process is like. You should start a thread for January TSC filers only. My month's TSC thread is so supportive.

Phillipines people, please stop bragging about your short approval times. It is irrelevant to the rest of us since we are not being expedited like you are. And it makes us feel crappy and angry.

I did a previous K1 in 2008, We had California Service Center and Vermont Service Center back then and I was routed to Vermont, Back then California was the slow service center, My petition in 2008 was approved in 60 days.

You go April! Your comment about throwing rocks made me laugh! :D

BTW, I mentioned this to msbau764, but I'll be coming back through IAH on the 13th in the afternoon, so if there are any Houston VJers who'd be interested in a late lunch/early dinner that day, I'd be up for it. If not, I'll just plan on heading back to Austin. Just a thought...

I'd say something like keep the faith or stay positive, but those phrases have kinda started to bother me lately, so I'll refrain from doing so at this point. lol :D :D :D

ps-Yes, petitions in which the beneficiary is from the Philippines are still being expedited....

Really? Judging on recent timeline data the overwhelming majority of cases with beneficiaries in the Philippines are being approved within roughly one to two months. Source below, gauging the dates between the NOA1 and NOA2 column.

What you should keep in mind is that although the typhoon hit late 2013, the Philippines will more than likely still be feeling the negative economical fallout. Take comfort in the fact that we at least have somewhere comfortable and safe to wait - unfortunately, some people don't.

It may be hard to stay positive and you may even feel like the process can be unfair, especially when those that filed after you are approved before you. As a fellow Brit, when I get down over things like this, I remind myself that I do not have a divine right to a green card - it is a privilege that I am being considered for and therefore however long it takes until I reach POE is just how long it takes.

Please don't take any of that the wrong way; I've been through the same range of emotions (at one point, I even felt angry about the K1 process being much faster than the CR-1 process, but that's before I gauged the positive and negatives of each visa type) and it took me a while to reach the above conclusion - I felt a lot better when I did. Good luck to you. We'll all look back on this period of our lives one day and laugh.

Shippingforecast, I don't disagree with anything you said. Some days I feel more at peace with the process than others. Nonetheless, it can be disheartening to see what I think is probably a majority of the people move forward through expedites or CSC while I face being at this same stage for 3-4 more months, while those people have already arrived and are getting married. And I don't think most mean it as bragging, but it certainly feels insensitive to me. I bet I'm not the only one who feels that way. I just ask those people to be sensitive of the feelings of those who are not so fortunate to have this process actually working for them.

No we have not called USCIS yet, cause they say TCS process is 5,9 months and if you call them earlier than that your case will be pushed back. We are just hoping we get approved soon :(

This is incorrect. If you call them early they won't help you but it will not push your case back either.

That's correct. When you call them after the five month normal processing time, they still won't help you. Nothing changes.

That is not true. You can still call and would not affect your case. I called about three to four times and I was approved within 81 days.

I am married to a Filipino, and the latest Typhoon to hit that country, did almost as much damage as the 2013 one did.

People have no where to live, nothing to eat and my wife's Uncle and Aunt's house, had water up to the ceiling, inside the house.

They lost most everything, as did hundreds of thousands of people.

I agree with "one poster" just because a country is getting its petitions, approved very rapidly, this IS NO place, to be "crowing about it".,.,. some people are suffering, waiting on TSC for 6-9 months, and more.

Expedited K-1's, should just be posted on your time line (IF you use the one on this site) and that should be it.

We were 186 days until NOA 2 and my wife is from Cebu, and we know the feeling! (Was no Expedited for us)

It is no fun, BUT oh so worth it when it does happen.

I've not heard anyone dispute the devastation caused by either typhoon. But the fact remains that each time someone jumps the line, it puts those already waiting further behind. It truly is a test of patience.

I've read the uscis notices about the typhoon last year. The relief offered was clearly stated as "upon request." That's not what's happening here. It's just another example of zero transparency from uscis. Much like the wait times at TSC right now when uscis says they're processing May petitions when we can all see that they were processing May on October 31st. I can't speak for everyone, but my issues are much less to do with begrudging those who have suffered from the typhoon and much more about the complete disregard I feel from uscis for any sense of fairness or openness about the process. My life matters too.

And why are we not allowed to express dissatisfaction? This should be a place for support in every aspect. The good AND the bad. The victories AND the challenges.
