PCC is required in order to enter the US embassy in India? We already submitted our PCC to nvc, will a copy of it work? Will my husband be allowed to enter if he has a copy of his PCC?

Did you obtain both PCC- one from local police station and other from passport office. I'd sent original PCC from local police station but copy of the PCC from passport office (received checklist in September). I still have the original PCC from passport office.

PCC from local police station is not a valid until you are a foreigner. You must submit PCC from Passport Seva office, Passport Office will give 2 copies of original PCC. You must submit one to NVC and another one to Embassy(valid only one year only from date of issued).

We already sent both original PCC (from Passport Seva Office in Delhi) and PCC from local police station in Gurgaon to NVC. We have copies of both PCCs. I read the instructions and it doesn't say original or copy is required to enter the US embassy, just PCC (not sure if the original is needed or copy is okay). Should we go again to the passport seva office to get the second original PCC?

I read other posts (with same question). It looks like original PCC is required to enter the US embassy. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/486485-sending-pcc-to-nvc/

We had the checklist but it didn't ask for PCC. It asked for just two things: my marriage certificate and corrected AOS. My checklist scanned date is Dec 22nd. Should we go to the passport office (walk-in) without an appointment to get a second oriignal PCC?

Yes... You should bring your original PCC to Embassy. Otherwise they won't allow you in and you may get 221(g) refusal letter from consular. Don't give up chance.

Thank you, CoolGirl. My spouse went to the Passport Office without an appointment and got a second original PCC yesterday. Gracious!
